Title: Nature is my religion (NIMR)
Artist: Ross Lovegrove
Dimensions: 1840 x 990 x 350 mm.
Weight: 40 kg
With our technology and process, the worldwide acknowledged British industrial designer created a 1,84 m. high sculptural artwork inspired by natural elements from the ocean.
Back in 2004, Ross Lovegrove published his project "Vertebrae" which owes its origins to the same piece.
The vertebra was scanned in 3D and then digitalized. It was given a second life molded with Sandhelden's technology but on an entirely different scale.
This oversized scale, combined with sand, allows us to look at its surface in a new way. Thus, encourages another level of understanding of biological evolution, beyond a "too human" approach.
The artwork was presented in June 2019 at the United Artist for Europe Charity Auction (Hotel Café Royal, Regent Street, London).
Ross Lovegrove is a designer and visionary who’s work is considered to be at the very apex of stimulating a profound change in the physicality of our three-dimensional world.
Inspired by the logic and beauty of nature his design possesses a trinity between technology, materials science, and intelligent organic form, creating what many industrial leaders see as the new aesthetic expression for the 21st Century.
